Cate Evans

Athlete

Caiden Baxter is originally from Southwest Michigan. He endured a spinal cord injury at the age of 15, leaving him with partial paralysis from the waist down. He began an intensive studies program through Andrew’s University shortly before his injury, and continued to excel in his high school studies after. He was originally introduced to adaptive sports a year post-injury, but did not begin playing wheelchair tennis until shortly before his time at Michigan beginning in the fall of 2019.


Junior Year

  • University of Michigan Wheelchair Tennis varsity team

  • Collegiate Nationals with a team and personal season finish o f4th in the nation

  • PTR Hilton Head Championship: Singles quarter-finalist

  • Alabama Open: Quarter-finalist

  • UH Cougar Open: Doubles quarter-finalist; Singles semi-finalist

  • Music City Classic: A singles; A doubles


Sophomore Year

  • University of Michigan Wheelchair Tennis varsity team

  • Season cut short due to covid-19

  • Made it to Collegiate Nationals with a team season finish of 2nd in the nation

  • 2021 Music City Classic: Doubles quarter-finalist

  • 2021 Midwest Championship: Doubles semi-finalist; Singles quarter-finalist

  • 2021 Cincinnati Open: Singles Finalist; Doubles Champion


Freshman Year

  • University of Michigan Wheelchair Tennis varsity team

  • 2019 Cincinnati Open: Doubles Champion; Singles Champion

  • Attended the 2019 All Comers Camp at Purdue University, IN


Prep

  • Has competed in various athletics since the age of 3
